OT question about DVD

I bought a film from ebay. The seller was in the states. I received the film yesterday, it's brand new, still in is package. But when I put it in the dvd player, either the disc doesn't read or I see the menu but when I make a choice, it doesn't play. I was able to make it play once, but the image always froze...
I was wondering if when the dvd went trough the custom, if they scaned it could it have messed it up?

A DVD is optical, not magnetic, so it would really have to be a focused specific color of x-ray (near impossible) to afftect it.

I have sent hundreds of DVD and CD burns that I have done of pictures overseas and never experienced any issue.

Was it one that they copied and shrinkwrapped, or a licensed movie? Could also be that your DVD player just cant decode it correctly, nor not set up with the correct color laser.

It's a licensed movie (Shaolin master killer, I love k-fu).

Maybe it's a dumb question, but you say maybe it's the laser is the wrong color, can I change that?

Porthos, franchement, je ne sais pas. If i'm not mistaking it an Itachie, but don't ask me the model... (and i'm not home right now, so I can't check)

Moi j'en ai achet? un il ya m?me pas 2 ans et il faut que je m'en ach?te un autre parce que NEW LINE (distributeur de Lord of thr Ring) a grav? ses deux disque d'extra de the Two Towers en format DVD diff?erent et mon lecteur lit le film mais pas les 2 disque d'extra.

J'ai eu le lecteur en cadeau a ma fete l'ann?e derniere. Par contre j'ai essayer le disque sur 3 lecteur different (mon lecteur dvd, mon PS2 et ici au bureau et c'est toujours le meme chose)
